Kaarle Tapper

Kaarle Tapper, born on September 19, 1995, in Helsinki, Uusimaa, Finland, is a Finnish competitive sailor. Tapper began his Olympic career by competing in the 2010 Summer Youth Olympics in Sailing, specifically in the One Person Dinghy, Boys (YOG) event, where he placed 4th. This early achievement set the stage for his future in international sailing. Standing at 190 cm and weighing 84 kg, Tapper has consistently represented Finland on the global stage, demonstrating commitment to his sport.

His Olympic journey continued as he competed in the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, participating in the men’s Laser class (One Person Dinghy, Men), where he finished 26th. Tapper further solidified his position in competitive sailing by qualifying for and competing in the 2020 Summer Olympics. In the 2020 Olympics, he achieved a 9th-place finish in the One Person Dinghy, Men (Olympic) event, marking a significant improvement and demonstrating his progression in the sport. He is affiliated with Helsingfors Segelklubb, a key institution in his sailing development.
