Kandyse McClure is an actress originally born in South Africa but she moved to Canada with her family and now resides in Vancouver. She is known for her main roles in various television series such as Battlestar Galactica, Hemlock Grove, and from the movies Carrie and Seventh Son.
Her first television appearance was in 2000 in, In a Class of His Own that was followed by the Fox teen drama Higher Ground with Jewel Staite, Hayden Christensen, and A.J. Cook. She later starred in the NBC Saturday-morning series Just Deal. From 2003 to 2009, McClure played the role of Anastasia “Dee” Dualla on the Sci-Fi Channel series Battlestar Galactica. McClure was a recurring cast member in the series until January 2009. McClure then appeared in the television adaptation of King’s Children of the Corn and the Carl Bessai feature film, Cole, from the same year. In 2012 McClure joined the cast of Netflix original series Hemlock Grove and completed the feature film Broken Kingdom alongside Rachael Leigh Cook.
The actress has also appeared in other television programs, such as Whistler, Andromeda, Jake 2.0, Smallville, and Reaper. She has continuously developed her acting skills and over the years has gone from strength to strength. As the kind-hearted person she is, she also tries to give back to the wider community as much as she can and continues to work with the non-profit organization CARE Canada to address poverty in the world’s developing regions.
