Rising star Kelly Agbowu is an all-round performer who has appeared in musical theatre, film, commercials, and television. She originated the role of May in the brand new musical Baddies at the Unicorn Theatre, and previously performed in The Book of Mormon in London’s West End and toured the UK and internationally with Disney’s The Lion King. Agbowu’s first feature film Dreams of a Life for Film 4 was recently aired on Channel 4. She has filmed commercials for Britain’s Got Talent, Nokia, Skype and Halifax, and was also the lead singer of multi-function band Motown Gold, touring the UK with the group. Her television appearances so far include Cop School for CBBC and Galaxy, and she also sung backing vocals for ITV’s Superstar.

Kelly Agbowu, born in Croydon, London, embarked on her performing arts career after graduating from the London School of Musical Theatre in 2009. Her early theatrical engagements included roles at the London School of Musical Theatre Studios, The Young Vic, and the Shaw Theatre in Canada. Her talent quickly led to diverse stage opportunities, and she gained prominence within the musical theatre community. Agbowu’s career is marked by consistency and a steady progression through significant roles in major productions.

Her West End career began in 2019 with a role in the musical *Waitress* at the Adelphi Theatre, where she portrayed Nurse Norma. She further solidified her presence in the West End with roles in *Les Miserables* at the Sondheim Theatre and *The Book of Mormon* at The Prince of Wales Theatre. In 2023, Agbowu took on critically acclaimed roles as Mrs. Flora Drummond and Mrs. Savoy in the suffragette musical *Sylvia* at The Old Vic, demonstrating her range and commitment to historical narratives. From 2023 to 2024, she covered the role of Wanda Sellner in the first UK production of *Mrs Doubtfire*. Beyond the stage, Agbowu has contributed to film and television, including the feature film *Dreams of a Life* (2011) and BBC’s *Cop School* (2010).

In addition to her acting and singing, Kelly Agbowu is an established voice-over artist, lending her voice to campaigns for brands such as Nescafe, TFL, Babbel, and BT Sports. She was also the lead vocalist for the function band Motown Gold and performed at the Croydon Carnival in 2023.
