Kennedy Mcmann

Kennedy Paige McMann was born on October 30, 1996, in Holland, Michigan, to Matthew and author Lisa McMann. She later moved with her family to Arizona during her elementary school years. McMann graduated from Skyline High School in 2014 and subsequently earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting from Carnegie Mellon University in 2018. Her personal experiences with obsessive-compulsive disorder since childhood have informed her work and advocacy efforts.

McMann gained significant recognition in February 2019 when she was cast as the titular character in The CW’s television adaptation of “Nancy Drew.” The series, which premiered in October 2019, featured McMann in a prominent role for 62 episodes until its conclusion in August 2023. This role established her as a notable figure in television. Following her work on “Nancy Drew,” McMann continued to expand her acting portfolio with guest roles in acclaimed series.

In March 2023, McMann appeared as Joni DeGroot, an attorney with obsessive-compulsive disorder, in an episode of “The Good Doctor.” This role was intended to lead to a spin-off series, which ultimately did not proceed. Her career also includes guest appearances in “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” in 2018 and a recurring role in “Tell Me Lies” in 2022. Beyond acting, McMann utilizes her platform to raise awareness for mental health, contributing to wider dialogue on the subject. She married Sam McInerney in 2020, whom she met during their time at Carnegie Mellon University.
