Kym Johnson-Herjavec has built a career as a professional ballroom dancer and television personality, celebrated for her wins on 'Dancing with the Stars' in both Australia and the U.S.
Kym and Robert Herjavec purchased Richard Simmons' dance studio and integrated Flow Wall products during a remodeling project. This partnership involved using Flow Wall's storage solutions in the redesigned space.
Kym Johnson-Herjavec was born Kym Johnson on August 4, 1976, in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. She began dancing at the age of three, specializing in ballroom dancing by the age of 13. In 1998, Johnson, alongside her partner Tomas Atkocevicius, achieved second place at the Australian Dancesport Championship in the Open Amateur Modern Ballroom category and reached the finals of the U.K. Ballroom Championships in Blackpool. She retired from competitive ballroom dancing in 2001, transitioning to stage performances such as ‘Burn the Floor’ and private events, including Elton John’s 50th birthday party.
Johnson’s television career commenced with ‘Dancing with the Stars’ in Australia, where she appeared in Seasons 1-3 (2004-2005). She secured a victory in Season 2 with celebrity partner Tom Williams. Her involvement continued in the U.S. version of ‘Dancing with the Stars’ from 2006 to 2015, returning for its 24th season in 2017. During her tenure on the U.S. series, Johnson achieved two Mirrorball trophies, first with Donny Osmond in Season 9 (2009) and later with Hines Ward in Season 12 (2011). Notably, her win with Donny Osmond made her the first professional dancer to win the title in two different countries. She also served as a judge on the Australian ‘Dancing with the Stars’ from 2013 to 2015.
Beyond competitive dancing, Johnson ventured into other television projects, appearing on ‘Australian Celebrity Survivor: Vanuatu’ in 2006 and ‘The Celebrity Apprentice Australia’ in 2013. In 2015, she launched her fitness brand, ‘5678 Fitness’, involving a fitness DVD and a diet book titled ‘The 5678 Diet’, which shares her life lessons, nutrition plans, and exercise routines. She married businessman Robert Herjavec in 2016, whom she met as her partner on ‘Dancing with the Stars’ Season 20, and they welcomed twins in 2018.
