Kenny Anderson

Kenny Anderson transitioned from a celebrated high school and college basketball player to an NBA All-Star point guard, accumulating achievements that include an NBA All-Star selection and multiple collegiate honors, later transitioning to coaching. After setting a state scoring record with 2,621 points at Archbishop Molloy High School and achieving national recognition as a four-time Parade All-American, Kenny Anderson quickly established himself as a top basketball talent. His illustrious high school career in 1989 included being named a McDonald’s All-American, New York State Mr. Basketball, and Gatorade High School Basketball Player of the Year, affirming his status as the number one player in the country.

He concluded his professional playing career with Žalgiris Kaunas in Lithuania in 2006. His legacy was further cemented with his induction into the New York City Basketball Hall of Fame in 2008. Following his retirement from playing, Anderson transitioned into coaching, taking on the role of head coach for the Continental Basketball Association’s Atlanta Krunk in 2007. Demonstrating a commitment to professional development, he earned a degree in organizational leadership from St.

Thomas University in 2010. Anderson later served as the head basketball coach for Fisk University, a position he held for six seasons from 2018 to 2024, continuing to contribute his extensive experience and leadership skills to the basketball world.
