Jimmy King

Jimmy King transitioned from a collegiate basketball star with the “Fab Five” to a professional player in the NBA and CBA, and now works as a Vice President at TruChampions specializing in high school sports recruiting. After becoming an integral member of the famed ‘Fab Five’ at the University of Michigan, Jimmy King established himself as a dominant collegiate and high school basketball player. His exceptional talent was recognized early, earning him McDonald’s All-American and Second-team Parade All-American honors in 1991, alongside being named Texas Mr. Basketball the same year.

As a member of the national squad, he secured a bronze medal at the 1998 FIBA World Championship, showcasing his global impact in the sport. Transitioning from active play, King has built a diverse post-career portfolio, including a tenure as a financial advisor for Merrill Lynch post-2006. He also served as a radio color commentator for Michigan Wolverines basketball during the 2008-2009 season, providing expert analysis. In 2016, King embarked on a coaching career, taking on the head coach position for the Ecorse Community High School men’s basketball team.
