Kim Erika Richards was born on September 19, 1964, in Mineola, Long Island, New York. She began her career at an early age, first appearing in a TV commercial at four months old and accumulating 20 TV commercials by the age of four and a half. Her television series debut came in 1970 on “Nanny and the Professor,” where she played Prudence Everett. Richards established herself in the entertainment industry with significant roles in Disney films such as “Escape to Witch Mountain” (1975) and its sequel “Return from Witch Mountain” (1978), portraying the psychic alien girl, Tia. She also took on more dramatic roles, notably as Kathy in John Carpenter’s “Assault on Precinct 13” (1976).

Throughout her childhood and young adult years, Richards made numerous guest appearances on popular television shows including “The Magical World of Disney,” “The Rockford Files,” “Little House on the Prairie,” “CHiPs,” “The Dukes of Hazzard,” and “Magnum, P.I.” She reunited with her “Witch Mountain” co-star Ike Eisenmann for “Devil Dog: The Hound of Hell” (1978).
