Basco’s breakthrough came with his role as Rufio, the leader of the Lost Boys, in Steven Spielberg’s 1991 film Hook, starring Robin Williams and Dustin Hoffman. This pivotal performance garnered him critical attention and earned him a Young Artist Award for Best Ensemble Cast. Building on this early success, Basco continued to cultivate his craft, graduating from the Music and Theatre Conservatory at the Orange County High School of the Arts in 1993, following earlier experience in minor television roles and as a breakdancing performer. He further demonstrated his range with roles such as Dolph in the 1999 cult film But I’m a Cheerleader and Ben Mercado in the independent feature The Debut.
Basco maintains a dynamic presence across film, television, animation, and digital media.
