About

Kimberly J. Brown, born on November 16, 1984, in Gaithersburg, Maryland, commenced her acting career at the age of five with commercials for the Ford Agency. By the age of nine, she had already appeared in three Broadway shows: “Four Baboons Adoring the Sun” (1992), “Les Misérables,” and “Showboat” (1994). Her early career also included a significant role as Marah Lewis on the CBS soap opera “Guiding Light” from 1993 to 1998 and then again in 2006, for which she earned a Daytime Emmy nomination at age 11. Brown’s versatility extended to voice acting, contributing to commercials, “A Bug’s Life” (1998), and the English dub of “Vampire Princess Miyu” (1997).

Brown gained widespread recognition for her leading role as Marnie Piper in the Disney Channel Original Movie “Halloweentown” (1998) and its sequels, “Halloweentown II: Kalabar’s Revenge” (2001) and “Halloweentown High” (2004). Her performance as Ava Walker in the comedy-drama film “Tumbleweeds” (1999) earned her critical acclaim and an Independent Spirit Award for Best Breakthrough Performance. She continued to build her filmography with roles in “Bringing Down the House” (2003) as Sarah Sanderson, “Be Cool” (2005) as Tiffany, and “Big Bad Wolf” (2006) as Sam Marche. Her television credits also include appearances in “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” (2003), “Low Winter Sun” (2013), and “General Hospital” (2021).

Beyond her acting work, Brown has engaged in various other ventures. She co-owns “CraftilyCreative,” an Etsy shop offering Halloween-themed merchandise and other items. In 2016, she co-authored a children’s book titled “Poppin’s Pumpkin Patch Parade” with Diane Yslas. Brown earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business.
