Kjetil Borch is a two-time Olympic medalist and two-time World Champion in rowing, representing Norway on the international stage. After securing a gold medal in the men’s double sculls at the 2013 World Championships in Chungju alongside Nils Jakob Hoff, Kjetil Borch went on to earn two Olympic medals and a second World Championship title. His impressive career began with his international debut for Norway at the World Junior Championships in Beijing in 2007, competing in the quad scull. He then transitioned to the double scull, earning a bronze at the 2009 World U23 Championships in Ra?ice with Truls Albert.
Borch further cemented his legacy at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo (held in 2021), where he earned a silver medal in the men’s single sculls, marking his second Olympic medal. His strong performance continued into 2022, where he placed fifth at the World Championships in the men’s single sculls. Kjetil Borch concluded his distinguished career as a four-time Olympian at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, competing in the men’s double sculls with Martin Helseth, where they finished tenth overall. Following his final Olympic appearance, Borch announced his retirement from the sport in 2025, leaving a remarkable record of two Olympic medals and two World Championship titles.
