Prolific film, television and stage actor Kris Marshall has been lighting up our screens for over twenty years. He is best known for playing DI Humphrey Goodman in Death in Paradise and as the awkwardly funny Nick Harper in the BBC classic series My Family. From small screen to Hollywood, Marshall’s diverse and versatile range has seen him feature in a broad range of projects. Not bad for the child you dreamed big from the comfort of his home in Bath, Somerset. After travelling the world with his Royal Air Force navigator father, Marshall attended the Wells Cathedral School. Failing his A-levels, Marshall pursued a career in the arts and enrolled in the Redroofs Theatre School before landing his first on-screen debut in The Bill. Now a highly accomplished award-winning actor, Marshall continues to defy expectations in his extraordinary career.
Throughout his illustrious career, Marshall has earned his stripes in a variety of different media. No stranger to the stage, Marshall has featured in numerous theatre productions, including Glengarry Glen Ross, Ugly Lies the Bone and The Revenger’s Tragedy. But it is television where Marshall has capitalised on his extensive command of character and range. Some of his television credits include ITV’s Jane Austen adaptation Sandition, the comedy series Citizen Khan and the crime drama We Hunt Together. On the big screen, Marshall features in the award-winning rom-com Love Actually, Death at a Funeral, The Merchant of Venice and many more. With a range of projects in the works, including the highly anticipated drama Promises, Marshall shows no signs of slowing down!
