Kristina Leonidovna Reztsova was born on April 27, 1996, in Moscow, Russia. She is the daughter of Anfisa Reztsova, an Olympic champion in both cross-country skiing and biathlon. Kristina Reztsova began competing in the Biathlon World Cup during the 2019–20 season. In her debut season, she attained a best individual result of 18th place in one of the races.

Reztsova’s career saw a temporary pause during the 2020–21 season due to the birth of her daughter. Following her return to competitive biathlon in the 2021–22 season, she demonstrated significant improvements in her performance. During this season, Reztsova secured her first top-10 finish in an individual World Cup race and subsequently achieved four podium finishes. This successful return led to her qualification for the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, marking her first Olympic appearance. At the 2022 Winter Olympics, representing the Russian Olympic Committee, she earned a bronze medal as part of the mixed relay team and a silver medal with the women’s relay team. Her performances at the Olympics included placing 9th in the 15km individual, 6th in the 7.5km sprint, 26th in the 10km pursuit, and 5th in the 12.5km mass start.
