Kyle MacLachlan is the handsome actor best known for his starring role in the mystery horror phenomenon that was Twin Peaks, appearing in the role of Dale Cooper in the television series and in the hit feature film prequel Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me, released in 1992. For his fantastic performance in the role, MacLachlan was awarded a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in 1990, and nominated twice for Emmy Awards. In 1990, he was also nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Spoken Word for the album Diane…The Twin Peaks Tapes Of Agent Cooper.
MacLachlan has featured in a wide array of films and television, from the infamous cinematic flop turned cult wonder Showgirls in 1995 which ended up being one of MGM’s top-20 all-time bestsellers, to his work with award winning director David Lynch in the big-budget adapation of Frank Herbert’s Dune, released in 1984, and the neo-noir mystery Blue Velvet, released two years later.
More recently, MacLachlan has featured in the globally popular fashion mad programme feminine sitcom Sex And The City, appeared in the brilliant Desperate Housewives, popped up as the domineering Captain in light-hearted and fun sitcom How I Met Your Mother, and even performed as Calvin Zabo in Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D, in the same year as he voiced the father figure in disney’s feature film Inside Out.
When not working on our screens, MacLachlan is a keen and passionate wine conniseur, with his own winery, named Pursued By Bear after the famous stage direction in Shakespeare’s The Winters Tale. He also maintains a website for his two lovable pooches who also have their own YouTube series.
