Lesego Kyle Mnyandu, known by his stage name FLVME, was born on September 10, 1999, in Vosloorus, Gauteng, South Africa. His early life involved relocations from Vosloorus to Hamanskraal, fostering deep connections to his family and the local culture. His musical development accelerated after moving to Katlehong, where he was introduced to rapping by his brother. Drawing inspiration from artists like Lil Wayne, Drake, and Chris Brown, FLVME joined his school choir, establishing an early foundation in music. His first significant step into the music industry was the release of his debut single, “Shots to the Brain,” which gained attention in Katlehong. This early success led to collaborations with local artists, including F-EEZY, the late brother of Pro Kid.
In 2016, FLVME joined Ambitiouz Entertainment and became part of The Wrecking Crew, a collective that included A-Reece and B3nchMarQ. This period enabled him to refine his skills as an artist and producer. In 2019, FLVME transitioned to an independent career, releasing his debut album, “CandyMan.” This album achieved critical acclaim and commercial success, topping iTunes charts and earning him nominations for Best Newcomer and Best Male at the 2019 South African Hip-Hop Awards.
