Lesego Kyle Mnyandu – better known by the stage name FLVME – is one of the hottest artists on the Hip Hop scene. The up-and-coming rapper caused a buzz with his 2019 debut album CandyMan, which won Best Male and Best Freshman at the South African Hip Hop Awards, and in 2020 he cemented his legacy as an award winning artist with the release of RedLight District, a joint project with Die Mondez.
A 90’s kid, FLVME grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa and was raised by his mother and Grandmother. After beginning to create music at a young age taking part in traditional music, school choirs and dance, the young rapper dropped out of school to pursue his music career after his brother introduced him to the music of Lil Wayne. The road to success wasn’t always easy for the rising Hip Hop star, and following his humble beginnings rapping on the streets of Katlehong, he joined Ambitiouz Entertainment in 2016 before parting ways the following year and joining The Wrecking Crew, dropping his first project ‘Clouds’ in November 2017.
In addition to recording and singing FLVME is also a talented music producer, producing for the likes of Amanda Black, Zoocci Coke Dope, A-Reece, 25k, Riky Rick, MashBeatz, DieMondez, Mellow, Ecco, and DJ Sliqe to name just a few, and there is much more music to come from this South African born-and-bred talent.
