Laetisha Scanlan, born in Victoria in 1990, began her shooting career at the age of 15 at the Wonthaggi Gun Club. What started as a bonding activity with her father quickly evolved into a competitive pursuit as she discovered her natural talent. Scanlan progressed rapidly, securing a trap pairs gold medal at the 2010 Commonwealth Games.
