Larry Csonka

Larry Csonka, a two-time Super Bowl Champion and NFL Hall of Famer, was an instrumental figure in the Miami Dolphins’ legendary undefeated 1972 season. Drafted eighth overall in the 1968 NFL/AFL Draft by the Dolphins, Csonka established himself as a dominant fullback early in his professional career, building on a collegiate foundation where he earned Consensus All-American honors at Syracuse University in 1967 and set numerous rushing records between 1965 and 1967. With the Dolphins, he achieved three consecutive 1,000-yard rushing seasons from 1971 to 1973, leading the NFL in rushing yards in 1971 and earning All-Pro selections in 1971, 1972, and 1973. His pivotal role in the Dolphins’ back-to-back Super Bowl VII (1972) and Super Bowl VIII (1973) victories culminated in his being named Super Bowl VIII MVP after rushing for a then-record 145 yards and two touchdowns.
