About

Timothy K. Wilcots, known by his stage name Latrice Royale, was born on February 12, 1972, in Torrance, California, and raised in Compton. His journey into drag began in the mid-1990s at the Copa Night Club in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where he performed his first drag show after amusing friends by dressing as Wanda from ‘In Living Color’. His drag mother is Tiffany Arieagus. After gaining public recognition, Wilcots became an ordained minister, officiating weddings and advocating for marriage equality.

Royale gained significant recognition through his appearances on the ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ franchise. In 2012, he participated in the fourth season of ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’, placing fourth and earning the title of Miss Congeniality. He went on to compete in ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars’ seasons 1 and 4, and appeared in ‘RuPaul’s Drag U’. In 2014, he released his debut single “Weight” and later that year performed with Jennifer Hudson at the CBS Fashion Rocks charity event. In 2016, Royale appeared in the off-Broadway parody ‘Mister Act’ and released his EP, ‘Here’s to Life: Latrice Royale Live in the Studio’, touring the show globally.

In recent years, Royale has continued to expand his career. In January 2021, he made history as the first drag queen to appear on the QVC network, promoting Ruby Royale nuts by Squirrel Brand. He also held a residency at the Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas as part of the ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race LIVE!’ show and served as a special consultant and guest star for the Netflix series ‘AJ & The Queen’ where he played “Faberge Leggs”. His biographical one-queen show, ‘Here’s to Life’, has played to sold-out audiences worldwide, complemented by an album of the same name. His subsequent live show, ‘Life Goes On’, toured over 30 cities in North America in 2023, after which he returned to host ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race Live!’ in Las Vegas. Latrice Royale has also been a keynote speaker, notably at the Drag Queen March on the State Capitol Building of Florida.
