A growing list of advertisers decided to cut ties with right-wing television host Laura Ingraham after she tweeted insults about a survivor.

Laura Anne Ingraham was born on June 19, 1963, in Glastonbury, Connecticut. She pursued higher education at Dartmouth College, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in 1985 after studying English literature and Russian. Following her undergraduate studies, Ingraham worked as a speechwriter for the Reagan administration’s domestic policy advisor in the late 1980s. She furthered her academic career by attending the University of Virginia School of Law, where she served as a notes editor for the Virginia Law Review and earned her Juris Doctor degree in 1991. Her legal career included clerking for Judge Ralph K. Winter Jr. of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit from 1991 to 1992, and for U.S. Supreme Court justice Clarence Thomas from 1992 to 1993, before working as an attorney at the law firm Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom.
Ingraham transitioned into media in the mid-1990s, beginning her television career as a host on MSNBC in 1996 and later becoming a CBS commentator. In 2001, she launched her nationally syndicated radio show, “The Laura Ingraham Show,” which achieved significant listenership and was ranked among the top radio shows in America by Talkers Magazine in 2012. Her influence continued to grow, culminating in her return to television as the host of “The Ingraham Angle” on Fox News Channel in October 2017.
Throughout her career, Ingraham has also authored several New York Times best-selling books, including “The Hillary Trap” (2000), “Shut Up & Sing” (2003), “Power to the People” (2007), “The Obama Diaries” (2010), “Of Thee I Zing” (2011), and “Billionaire at the Barricades” (2017). These publications, alongside her media presence, solidify her position as a leading conservative commentator and author. She also co-founded LifeZette in 2015, a conservative American website, later selling a majority stake in 2018.
