Lauren German is an actress from California who first made her name in the early 2000s by appearing in movies such as Hostel Part II, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and A Walk to Remember. More recently, she has enjoyed success on television, co-starring as Detective Chloe Decker in the DC Comics-based fantasy series Lucifer, which ran for six seasons. Her other notable TV roles to date include that of Lori Weston in the successful reboot of Hawaii Five-O and Leslie Shay in the first three seasons of Chicago Fire. Her success on the latter show was such that after leaving, she was nominated for the Favorite TV Character We Miss the Most Award at the People’s Choice Awards.
German was born in California in November 1978. She began her acting career on the stage but got her first taste of film action when she had a small role in a rom-com called Down to You. In 2000, she appeared in the third season of MTV’s Undressed series, and in 2001, appeared in a successful rom-com, A Walk to Remember. She began to enjoy success in a wider variety of films as the decade progressed, appearing in major horror films such as the 2003 remake of Texas Chainsaw Massacre and the Tarantino-produced Hostel Part II. She also appeared in the crime film Born Killers alongside Morgan Freeman.
German’s strongest successes, however, have arguably come from TV series. In 2011, she appeared as part of the main cast in the second season of Hawaii Five-O and the following year, she was cast in Chicago Fire. Lucifer has kept her busy in recent years, but now she is working on hetting her next big role.
