Lauren Gottlieb

Lauren Gottlieb, an American dancer and actress, was born on June 8, 1988, in Scottsdale, Arizona. Her career began with a strong foundation in dance, participating in Season 3 of FOX Network’s “So You Think You Can Dance” (2005) where she reached the top six contestants. She later returned to the show as a choreographer for the audition rounds in Season 5 and as an All-Star for Seasons 7-9. These early experiences provided a significant platform, leading to her recognition by a director in India for the country’s first 3D dance film.

This recognition marked a turning point in Gottlieb’s career, as she moved to India and starred in “ABCD: Any Body Can Dance” (2013). The film was a success, and she subsequently lived and worked in India for 10 years, appearing in four films and numerous music videos. Her career in India further evolved when she transitioned from contestant to judge on “Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa,” India’s equivalent of “Dancing with the Stars.” Throughout her extensive career, she has performed with international artists such as Rihanna, Mariah Carey, Britney Spears, Shakira, Sean Kingston, Carrie Underwood, Willow Smith, and Enrique Iglesias. She has also contributed to films like “Hannah Montana: The Movie” (2009), “Disaster Movie” (2008), and “Bring It on: Fight to the Finish” (2009) as a dancer. Gottlieb also served as a private dance coach for celebrities including Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes, and Tobey Maguire, and was a featured dancer on the musical comedy series “Glee” for six episodes as part of the rival crew “Vocal Adrenaline.”

Beyond dance, Gottlieb has built an acting resume with roles in films such as “Twisted Blues,” “Ambarsariya,” and “Welcome 2 Karachi.” Her television appearances include guest roles on ABC Family’s “Make It or Break It” and CBS series “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” and “Ghost Whisperer.” She also had a role in “Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked” (2011). In 2025, Lauren Gottlieb married Tobias Jones.
