Tion Wayne

Dennis Junior Odunwo, known professionally as Tion Wayne, was born on September 1, 1993, in Edmonton, North London. His early musical exploration included playing drums at school and church. Wayne began building his presence in the music scene around 2010 by releasing videos on YouTube. His debut mixtape, “Wayne’s World,” was released in 2014, marking the beginning of his recorded career. He continued to grow his fanbase, supported by opening acts for artists such as Rick Ross and Sarkodie. This period of consistent output and live performances laid the groundwork for his future mainstream success.

Wayne’s career gained significant momentum following the release of “Wayne’s World 2” in 2016 and the “Transition EP” in 2017. He first appeared on the UK Singles Chart in early 2019 as a featured artist on NSG’s “Options,” which reached number seven. Later that year, his collaboration with Russ Millions, “Keisha & Becky,” also peaked at number seven on the UK charts and his mixtape “T Wayne’s World 3” entered the UK albums chart. In 2020, he contributed to KSI’s “Houdini,” a No. 6 hit, and achieved his first top 10 hit as a lead artist with “I Dunno” featuring Dutchavelli and Stormzy, which peaked at number seven globally.

A significant turning point came in 2021 when Tion Wayne and Russ Millions released “Body.” This track made history by becoming the first UK drill song to reach number one on the UK Singles Chart. “Body” gained international traction, topping charts in Australia, Ireland, and New Zealand, and accumulating over 5.5 billion views on TikTok. His debut album, “Green With Envy,” released in 2021, reached the Top 5 and featured hit singles “Wow” and “Wid It.” Wayne also collaborated with Ed Sheeran on a remix of “Bad Habits,” further solidifying his broad appeal. In 2023, he visited the residence of late rapper Sidhu Moose Wala in Punjab, India, filming a music video for “Healing” to pay his respects and honor their previous collaboration.
