British rapper and DJ Tion Wayne has enjoyed international success since uploading his first tracks to YouTube as a 17-year-old way back in 2010. His UK hits have included ‘Keisha & Becky’, ‘I Dunno’, and ‘IFTK’, but his biggest hit to date is undoubtedly his 2021 track, ‘Body’, a collab with fellow rapper Russ Millions that hit the number-one spot in Britain and Australia, made top-tens all over Europe, and even charted in America. His debut album, Green With Envy, also came out in 2021 and made the UK Top Five.
Wayne was born in the North London area of Edmonton in 1993. He originally wanted to become an accountant, but by his mid-teens, he’d shifted his sights to focus on music. After years of upping videos and honing his craft, he released his debut mixtape, Wayne’s World in 2014. His skills began to get people talking and even before he landed a record deal, he was being namechecked by the likes of Rick Ross and Sarkodie, both of whom he opened shows for. After several further underground releases, he hit the big-time in 2019 with ‘Keisha & Becky’, his first hook-up with Russ Millions and his first UK Top 10 hit.
Things have moved quickly since then, and Wayne has become a regular visitor to the charts, collaborating with artists such as Stormzy, Rudimental, La Roux, and many more. Among his most recent releases are ‘Ops’ (with Scorcher), ‘Suffer’ (with GRM Daily and Giggs), and ‘IFTK’, which has given him one of his most recognisable releases to date.
