Lee Garrett

Lee Garrett was born in Mississippi in 1943. He is a rhythm and blues singer-songwriter known for co-writing the classic song “Signed, Sealed, Delivered I’m Yours” with Stevie Wonder. Garrett also co-wrote “Let’s Get Serious” for Jermaine Jackson and “It’s a Shame” for The Spinners. His career began in the 1960s as a radio DJ and later included recording several solo singles. He also served as a musical director for a Philadelphia R&B station in 1967.

Garrett achieved mainstream success in 1976 with his solo track “You’re My Everything,” which peaked at number 15 on the UK Singles Chart and number 58 on the US Hot 100 chart. This song was part of his debut album, “Heat for the Feets,” released on Chrysalis Records. The album featured collaborations with notable musicians such as Harvey Mason, Lee Ritenour, Tom Scott, and Dave Grusin. Garrett performed “You’re My Everything” on Top of the Pops in May and June 1976, further solidifying his presence in the music industry.

Beyond his music career, Garrett has engaged in acting, with roles as George Brooks in “BULL” (CBS), Leo in “BLINDSPOT” (NBC), and Nate in “Law & Order SVU” (NBC). He also held a lead role in the film “Rumors Of Wars” and worked with an Oscar-winning director on the film “Sidney Hall.” Currently residing in the Portland, Oregon area, Garrett continues to perform, including with the Boomer Band as their featured vocalist since 1987,
