William Byron has rapidly ascended the ranks of professional stock car racing, transitioning from a successful eSports competitor to a two-time Daytona 500 champion and multiple-series title winner. After achieving over one hundred wins and 298 top-five finishes on the iRacing simulator, William Byron transitioned to real cars in 2012, rapidly ascending the ranks of professional stock car racing. That same year, he secured 33 victories and became the Legend Car Young Lions Division champion. He joined the JR Motorsports late model program in 2014, competing at Hickory Motor Speedway and finishing second in points.
Byron’s breakthrough continued in 2015, signing with HScott Motorsports for the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East, where he earned four wins, the series championship, and Rookie of the Year honors. Byron continued his rapid progression, moving to the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series with Kyle Busch Motorsports in 2016. He set a rookie record with seven wins and was named the series’ Rookie of the Year. Further solidifying his reputation, Byron secured the 2017 NASCAR Xfinity Series Championship and Rookie of the Year award, driving for JR Motorsports with four victories.
His dominant performance led to him being crowned the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series Regular Season Champion. Further demonstrating his long-term commitment and value, Byron signed another contract extension with Hendrick Motorsports in 2025, securing his position with the team through 2029.
