The brains behind many of America’s best-known and most impactful campaigns, she is also known for her appearances on television, bestselling books and her many industry accolades.
Across an unmatched career in advertising, Kaplan Thaler has crafted jingles and campaigns that have become cultural touchstones, including the Aflac duck, ‘Kodak Moments’, ‘I’m a Toys ‘R’ Us Kid’, and the ‘Yes, Yes, Yes’ campaign for Clairol’s Herbal Essences. Her clients have included Pfizer, P&G, and Citibank, and in the political sphere she has worked on the US Presidential campaigns of Hillary Clinton in 2008 and Bill Clinton in 1992.
A popular television personality and recognised expert in the field of advertising, Kaplan Thaler hosted the series Making it Big on Oxygen, served as a judge on reality series Jingles, and has made appearances on CNN, Fox News, Good Morning America and The Apprentice. Alongside co-author Robin Koval, she has written four influential books, including Bang!
Getting Your Message Heard in a Noisy World, and The Power of Small: Why Little Things Make All the Difference. In recognition of her extraordinary contributions to advertising, Kaplan Thaler has received dozens of top awards, including 13 Clio Awards, the Clio Lifetime Achievement Award, the New York Women in Communications Matrix Award, and the Advertising Woman of the Year Award. In 2015 she was inducted into the American Advertising Hall of Fame.
