A demographics and trends expert, Nazareth is an economist who utilises media as a method to communicate her in-depth observations. Also a Senior Fellow of Economics and Population Change at the Macdonald-Laurier Institute, Nazareth’s professional career is a perfect example of reinvention. Prior to her current position, Nazareth was a TV broadcaster for Business News Network for over a decade. During her time on the screen, Nazareth became one of the first economists to accurately predict the severity of the recession. With a Bachelor of Arts and Masters in economics at the University of Toronto, Nazareth’s other roles have included Senior Economist at CIBC and a federal government economist, during which time her primary focus was the labour market and demographic forecasting. As an author, Nazareth has published three books, including Work is Not a Place and Economorphics. Her work is also frequently published in national publications including Canada’s Globe and Mail.
