Texas-girl Lindsey Burke Harris is a professional soccer goalkeeper in the National Women’s Soccer League. Born and raised in Houston, Lindsey attended Westlake High School, where she played basketball for two years before turning to soccer for her final two years. In both her junior and senior year she was named the Westlake soccer team MVP, as well as the All-Central Texas Goalkeeper of the Year.
Throughout her high school career, Lindsey recorded a massive 34 shutouts and a 0.38 goals against average, seeing only 19 goals go in in 50 matches. In 2012 the soccer superstar graduated from Westlake as an Academic All-State Honoree. She went on to be redshirted her first year at The University of North Carolina, and began her college career with the Tar Heels the following year as a Redshirt Freshman. That season Lindsey made her first career save, preserving a shutout for her team and a 4-0 victory. As a Sophomore she made a massive 30 saves in 18 matches played, allowing only 5 goals to get past her. The talented keeper accomplished a season and career high saves in a game against Florida State, with 6 whole saves that game.
In 2015, as a junior, Lindsey scored her first career point when she assisted on a goal against Fresno State. During her senior year she was promoted, after all her amazing work, to starting goalkeeper. Following her graduation Lindsey left the States to play overseas. In 2017 she signed with the FH women’s football team in Iceland, before moving on to play with Klepp IL in Norway from 2018 to 2019. She returned to American soil in 2020 to sign with her hometown team, the Houston Dash, and made her NWSL debut in 2021.
