Lisa Ashton

Lisa Ashton, known as “The Lancashire Rose,” born on August 27, 1970, in Bolton, Lancashire, England, is a professional darts player. She began her darts career in 1992, competing in British Darts Organisation (BDO) and World Darts Federation (WDF) events. Ashton has won over 100 titles in women’s darts competitions, establishing herself as a dominant force in the sport. Her career is marked by multiple World Championship victories and a transition into the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) circuit, where she has also achieved significant success.

Ashton achieved four BDO Women’s World Championship titles in 2014, 2015, 2017, and 2018. Additionally, she secured three World Masters championships in 2011, 2018, and 2019, and three BDO World Trophy titles in 2015, 2016, and 2019. In 2020, Ashton made history by becoming the first woman to earn a PDC Tour Card through Q-School, marking a significant milestone in her career and for women’s darts. During her time in the PDC, she notably set a new world record for the highest average by a female player on television (100.3) during a match at the 2021 UK Open.

Her achievements include topping the PDC Women’s Series rankings in 2020 and 2022, and winning the Women’s World Matchplay in 2025. Ashton’s consistency and success across various major tournaments highlight her enduring influence in the sport. She has faced and defeated many top players in darts, including Fallon Sherrock and Anastasia Dobromyslova, consistently proving her capability at the highest levels of competition. Her participation in both BDO/WDF and PDC events showcases her adaptability and continued pursuit of excellence.
