Lisa Buckwitz

Lisa Buckwitz is an Olympic gold medalist bobsledder for Germany, recognized for her achievements in two-woman and monobob events. After securing two junior championship titles early in her bobsleigh career, Lisa Buckwitz made a significant impact in the 2014–15 season, earning a victory in the two-woman Bobsleigh World Cup event in Königssee alongside Cathleen Martini. She followed this success in 2016, winning a bronze medal at the Bobsleigh European Championship with Stephanie Schneider and placing fourth at the IBSF World Championships in Igls. The following year, at the 2017 IBSF World Championships in Königssee, Buckwitz earned a silver medal in the mixed team event as part of a formidable German team.

She continued her strong performance into the 2018–19 season, winning the opening race of the Bobsleigh World Cup in Sigulda. Buckwitz has also showcased her versatility and consistent excellence in monobob, competing in various elite events. At the 2022 Winter Olympics, she continued to demonstrate top-tier performance, placing fourth in the two-woman event alongside Kim Kalicki.
