After dedicating twelve years to the New York City theatre scene, notably as Lady Macbeth with Shakespeare & Company, Lorraine Toussaint transitioned to screen acting. Her professional screen debut came with ‘The Face of Rage’ (1983) and her film debut in the 1989 crime comedy ‘Breaking In,’ starring Burt Reynolds. She established her television presence with a recurring role as defense attorney Shambala Green in ‘Law & Order’ (1990-1994) and co-starred in films such as ‘Hudson Hawk’ with Bruce Willis (1991) and ‘Dangerous Minds’ with Michelle Pfeiffer (1995).
