Pooch Hall

Pooch Hall is an American actor known for his television roles as Derwin Davis in ‘The Game’ and Daryll Donovan in ‘Ray Donovan’, bringing a versatile presence to both comedic and dramatic series. After winning the Southern New England Golden Gloves in 1994, Pooch Hall transitioned his athletic discipline into a dynamic acting career, initially appearing in commercials before making his film debut as Derrick in the 2001 film Lift. The same year, he appeared in Blue Hill Avenue, followed by a role in Black Cloud in 2004, a film notably written and directed by Rick Schroder. Hall further established his presence in television with a main cast role as Ty’ree Bailey in the 2005 mini-series Miracle’s Boys, demonstrating his early versatility across film and television projects.

Beyond his extensive television work, Hall has made notable contributions to feature films. In 2011, he starred as Ricky in the romantic comedy Jumping the Broom. He garnered significant attention for his powerful portrayal of boxing legend Muhammad Ali in the 2016 sports biography film Chuck. His filmography also includes a role as Al in the heartwarming family drama A Dog’s Purpose in 2017 and a compelling performance as Sgt.

Whomever in the 2021 crime drama Cherry. Most recently, Hall reprised his role as Daryll Donovan in Ray Donovan: The Movie in 2022, continuing the acclaimed Showtime series’ story. The same year, he appeared as Dante Scott in an episode of the NBC procedural drama Law & Order: Organized Crime. Looking ahead, Hall is slated to appear as Floyd in the upcoming television series The Family Business: New Orleans, further diversifying his expansive portfolio with new and compelling characters in 2025.
