The breathtakingly skilled Luis “Trikz” Da Silva Jr. is an award-winning actor, basketball player, author and illustrator, producer, and entrepreneur. He is also an esteemed motivational speaker, and is known as the “worlds best ball handler” for his jaw-dropping skills with a basketball.
Born and raised in New Jersey, Trikz was just 18-years-old when, in 2001, he became the youngest athlete to be endorsed by Nike, and the first Streetball athlete to be signed to an advertising contract. His patent signature tricks and moves soon became a global phenomenon. Two years later, he became the youngest player to be signed by the Harlem Wizards show basketball team. His star rose and he was offered a lead in the newly developed video game, L.A. Rush, which went on to sell 1 million units worldwide. He travelled the US on the Starbury SLAM Tour, performing his unique style of Hip-Hop themed basketball wizardry in front of captivated audiences. Then in 2007, he fulfilled a childhood dream when he was invited to join the Harlem Globetrotters. He was also the 4th pick in first round of the 2008 PBL (Premiere Basketball League) in 2008 to Dallas Defenders. He set a Guinness World Record in 2009 of 24 consecutive neck catches of a basketball, and in the same year became the youngest person ever inducted into the City of Elizabeth Athletic Hall of Fame. Aside from producing and directing instructional videos, Trikz has also forged an impressive, and award-winning acting career, and has appeared in a number of movies and TV shows, including Neil Jordan’s The Brave One, Pride & Glory, Fast Five, opposite Vin Diesel, 21 Jump Street, with Channing Tatum, and Speed Kills with John Travolta. In 2014 he became a published author and illustrator with his first children’s book, A Boy Named Boo.
