Kevin Heffernan

Kevin Heffernan was born on May 25, 1968, in West Haven, Connecticut. He pursued higher education at Fairfield College Preparatory School and Colgate University, where he was involved in the comedy group Charred Goosebeak. This group later evolved into the Broken Lizard comedy troupe. Heffernan further developed his legal education, graduating from Brooklyn Law School and passing the bar exams in both Connecticut and New York, although he ultimately chose a career in entertainment.

His career in comedy gained significant momentum with the Broken Lizard group. Heffernan, along with his fellow troupe members, spent several years developing the film *Super Troopers*. The movie premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, where its distribution rights were acquired by Fox Searchlight Pictures for 3.25 million dollars. Upon its release in 2001, *Super Troopers* grossed 23.1 million dollars, establishing Heffernan’s presence in the comedy scene. He is particularly known for his portrayal of Vermont State Trooper Rod Farva in *Super Troopers* and its 2018 sequel, *Super Troopers 2*.

Heffernan has expanded his work beyond acting, taking on roles as a writer, producer, and director. He co-starred in films such as *Club Dread* (2004) and *Beerfest* (2006), where he also contributed to the writing with Broken Lizard. His directorial debut was with the film *The Slammin’ Salmon* in 2009. From 2019 to 2023, he portrayed Chief Terry McConky in the TruTV series *Tacoma FD*, a show he also created and executive produced. Heffernan frequently collaborates with fellow Broken Lizard member Steve Lemme, with whom he performs a two-man touring stand-up comedy show, a podcast, and a web series, in addition to a Netflix special.
