23-yeard-old up-and-coming basketball forward-centre Luke Maye is a force to contend with. Hailing from North Carolina, the star entered the University of North Carolina on a full scholarship in 2015. Playing in the North Carolina Tar Heels until 2019, his time in the team was legendary. In 2017, the team received the South Regional all-tournament team award and Maye won the regional’s Most Outstanding Player award. Later in the year, the team also won the NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship. 2018 saw Maye becoming the first team member since 2008 to reach 20.8 points in the first nine games of the season. Although drafted for the NBA in the same year, Maye continued at the college, being nominated for ACC player of the year and scoring 31 points in the game against NC State.
In 2019, Maye turned professional, signed by the Milwaukee Bucks, but quickly transferred to the NBA G league later in the year, which saw him play for Wisconsin Herd. His time in the team saw him solidify his place as one of the game’s most exciting young players. Recently, in July 2020, Maye was signed to the Italian team Dolomiti Energia Trento, competing in the Lega Basket Series A. Now an international star, Maye is on a streak of success, with no plans of stopping soon. Becoming one of Basketball’s most promising players, he is set to gain a renowned place in the sport’s history.
