Lynn Gilmartin is known all over the world as the anchor of the World Poker Tour on for Bally Sports (formerly Fox Sports Networks). She has been associated with the world’s favourite card game for well over a decade and was inducted into the Australian Poker Hall of Fame in 2020 for her services to the game. She regularly hosts content for the WPT’s official YouTube and Instagram channels (combined subscriber and follower count of over 300,000) and has over 44,000 followers on her personal Insta account. In short, she has been one of the most recognisable faces in world poker during the last 10 years — and that’s not going to change any time soon.
Gilmartin was actually born in Dublin, Ireland, but her family emigrated down under when she was a toddler and she is firmly Australian. She entered poker journalism in her mid-20s, reporting for the likes of PokerNews and PokerStars TV. In 2012, she broke through into hosting, fronting poker coverage that was shown in Australia and the UK and becoming a sideline reporter for ESPN Australia. The following year, she made the big move to Los Angeles to become the anchor for Fox Sports’ World Poker Tour coverage. She quickly became a huge hit with fans and continues in the role to this day.
In 2018, Gilmartin began a side-hustle in acting. She appeared in an independent film called Museo, which won awards at the prestigious Berlin International Film Festival. She has also appeared in episodes of landmark Aussie soap opera Neighbours. Her other recent appearances include a recurring role in the Netflix teen drama Dive Club.
