Lyndell Santrell “Mack” Wilson Sr. was born on February 14, 1998, in Montgomery, Alabama. He attended George Washington Carver High School, where he achieved recognition as a five-star recruit, eventually committing to play college football at the University of Alabama. During his collegiate career with the Alabama Crimson Tide, Wilson demonstrated his skills as a linebacker. As a true freshman in 2016, he participated in 15 games, recording 8 tackles. His performance improved significantly in 2017, his sophomore year, starting in two of 12 games played, where he accumulated 40 tackles, 4 interceptions, and 1 touchdown. In his junior year in 2018, Wilson recorded 71 tackles, 1 sack, and 2 interceptions across 14 games. Following a successful college career, he decided to forego his senior year and entered the NFL Draft.
Wilson was selected by the Cleveland Browns in the fifth round as the 155th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. In his rookie season, he started 14 of 16 games, tallying 82 total tackles, 1 sack, 1 interception against Kyler Murray, 7 passes defended, and 1 forced fumble. Over the next two seasons with the Browns, he continued to contribute, recording 39 tackles and 2 passes defended in 13 games (8 starts) in 2020, and 42 tackles in 14 games (6 starts) in 2021. On March 16, 2022, Wilson was traded to the New England Patriots in exchange for Chase Winovich, marking a new chapter in his professional career. With the Patriots, he played in all 17 games in 2022, starting three, and registered 36 tackles, 1.5 sacks, 1 pass defended, and 1 forced fumble. He re-signed with the Patriots on a one-year contract extension in 2023, where he played 17 games, starting one, and contributed 37 tackles, 3.5 sacks, and 3 passes defended.
On March 14, 2024, Mack Wilson signed a three-year contract with the Arizona Cardinals.
