The incredible sportsman Major Wright is an author, entrepreneur and former professional American football safety, who played for the Chicago Bears, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFL. His book, Major Pain: Confessions of a Smash-Mouth Safety, was published in 2020.
Born and raised in Florida, Wright proved to be a natural on the American football field throughout his High School years. He was also an accomplished track & field athlete. He then attended the University of Florida from 2007 to 2009 on an athletics scholarship. He led the SEC in fumbles and was named a First-Team Freshman All-American at UF, as well as being a member of the 2008 National Championship winning team. After graduating, he was picked by the Chicago Bears in the third round of the 2010 NFL draft. He played for four years with the Bears, and then two years with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before retiring from the game in 2016.
