About

Born on December 20, 1987, in East Orange, New Jersey, Malcolm Jenkins established himself as a versatile athlete early in his career. He attended Piscataway Township High School, where he excelled in both wide receiver and defensive back positions, contributing to three consecutive state championships. His athletic prowess extended to track and field, where he secured a state title in the 400 meters. Jenkins continued his impressive trajectory at Ohio State, primarily playing in the nickelback position during his freshman year before transitioning to cornerback. He earned consensus All-American honors and was awarded the Jim Thorpe Award in 2008 as the nation’s best defensive back, cementing his status as a top prospect for the NFL.

Drafted 14th overall by the New Orleans Saints in the 2009 NFL Draft, Jenkins quickly adapted to the professional level, initially as a cornerback before moving to safety in 2010. During his first stint with the Saints, he secured a Super Bowl XLIV victory in 2010. Following his time in New Orleans, Jenkins joined the Philadelphia Eagles in 2014, where he further solidified his reputation as a formidable safety and a leader. He played a pivotal role in the Eagles’ Super Bowl LII victory in 2018, marking his second Super Bowl win and contributing to the franchise’s first-ever Super Bowl title. Throughout his 13-season NFL career, he consistently delivered high-level performance, earning three Pro Bowl selections (2015, 2017, 2018) and a second-team All-Pro selection in 2010.

Beyond his athletic achievements, Jenkins has become a respected voice in social justice and community advocacy. He founded The Malcolm Jenkins Foundation, dedicated to youth development through mentorship, education, and life skills programs. His commitment to social issues includes actively participating in national anthem protests to raise awareness about racial inequality and engaging in initiatives like ‘Let’s Listen Together’ to foster dialogue between law enforcement and communities. His influence extends to the business world with the formation of Malcolm Inc., a holding company for various ventures, and investments in sports and fashion, demonstrating a comprehensive vision for impact beyond his professional football career. He announced his retirement from the NFL on March 30, 2022, after a distinguished career marked by athletic excellence and profound social engagement.
