Marc Silverman is an American sports radio host and personality, best known for his EPSN radio show Waddle and Silvy.
Praised by many as Chicago’s best sports radio host, Silverman comes from humble beginnings. An Illinois-native, Silverman grew up nurturing a love for baseball, with a particular focus on his team, the Chicago Cubs. After majoring in Radio & Television at Southern Illinois University, Silverman honed his craft working as the Sports Director at the university’s radio station.
After university, Silverman worked as the Sports Director of KILR Radio, before moving onto what would ultimately be his big break. Working as the primary Sports Reporter for WGN Radio, Silverman gained recognition after covering three Bulls Championships, Bears practices, anchoring the late-night sports report, and hosting pre-games for the Cubs. In the two decades since, Silverman has set up residence at ESPN 1000, serving initially as a Bears beat reporter, hosting pre and post-game shows for the Bears.
By 2004, Silverman’s star had risen significantly, and he was soon co-hosting the Jay Mariotti Show; in the years following Silverman worked as a host in several capacities, including at Silvy and Carmen. Today, Silverman co-hosts ESPN’s long-running radio show Waddle and Silvy alongside Tom Waddle, formerly of the Bears and Bengals. A beloved radio show, the pair talk about everything relating to Chicago sports and show no signs of slowing down.
