Marissa Rancan

Marissa Rancan rose to prominence in the 1980s alongside her twin sisters, Adele and Lisa, as ‘The Rancan Sisters.’ They were instrumental in introducing and popularizing aerobics in Australia during that decade and founded their health club in 1982. This established her as a recognizable figure in the Australian fitness industry for several years. The trio’s collaboration dissolved in 1988 due to their father’s illness, leading Marissa to explore new career paths.

Following her career in fitness, Marissa transitioned her focus to makeup artistry, a field she describes as her passion. She has worked as a professional makeup artist and held a position as a Senior Makeup Artist with MAC Cosmetics from 2010 to the present. Recently, Marissa gained renewed public attention as a housemate on Big Brother Australia, where she was the oldest contestant at 61 years old at the time of filming. Her participation highlighted her competitive spirit, earning her the nickname ‘challenge beast,’ and she reached the top 10 contestants, finishing in 8th place out of 20.

Marissa continues to engage with the public through her makeup artistry and expressed openness to future television opportunities, particularly in dance-related shows like ‘Dancing with the Stars’ and potential fitness collaborations. She has also embraced platforms like Cameo for fan engagement. Her career illustrates a progression from pioneering fitness icon to skilled makeup artist and, more recently, to a reality TV personality, demonstrating adaptability across various public and professional roles.
