Mark Feuerstein was born on June 8, 1971, in New York City. The son of a lawyer and a school teacher, he was raised in a Jewish family and celebrated his Bar Mitzvah in an Orthodox synagogue. He attended The Dalton School, where he was captain of the football and wrestling teams. He graduated from Princeton University in 1993, after which he received a Fulbright scholarship to study acting at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and École Philippe Gaulier in France. His early career included an appearance as a cop on the daytime soap opera Loving (1995-1996) and a recurring role on the NBC sitcom Caroline in the City (1996–1997).

Feuerstein’s career advanced with notable roles in both television and film. He gained wider recognition through a guest appearance in the second season of Sex and the City. His television credits include Ally McBeal (2000), Once and Again (2000–2001), and a recurring role as lawyer Clifford Calley in The West Wing (2001–2005). From 2009 to 2016, he held the lead role as Dr. Henry “Hank” Lawson in the USA Network series Royal Pains, during which he also directed five episodes and served as co-producer and co-executive producer. In film, he appeared in Practical Magic (1998), What Women Want (2000), and Defiance (2008).

In 2017, Feuerstein co-created, co-produced, and starred in the CBS sitcom 9JKL with his wife, Dana Klein. He also appeared in Prison Break (2017) and Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later (2017). More recently, he earned a Children’s and Family Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Lead Performance for his work on The Baby-Sitters Club (2020–2021). His ongoing projects include roles in Hotel Cocaine (2024), Guns & Moses (2024), and upcoming series such as Lady in the Lake (2024) and Nemesis (Upcoming).
