British-American actor and musician Mark Andreas Sheppard is best known for portraying a range of characters across fantasy television series, including the demon Crowley on Supernatural, Romo Lampkin in Battlestar Galactica, crime lord Badger in Joss Whedon’s Firefly and investigator James Sterling in Leverage.
Sheppard has appeared in numerous roles across both film and television. He has made recurring appearances in The Invisible Man, The Practice, Special Unit 2, JAG, Star Trek: Voyager, Monk, The Chronicle, Las Vegas, CSI: NY, Chuck and White Collar. He has also taken on central roles in prominent Hollywood films, including In the Name of the Father, in which he starred opposed Emma Thompson and Daniel Day-Lewis. He has also been seen in rom-com Lover’s Knot, historical drama Out of the Cold, and action thriller Unstoppable. A noted voice actor, he has voiced the role of Michael Ford in The Conduit and acts as the voice of BBC America’s announcements and promos.
Sheppard is also a professional musician, having spent numerous years working with bands including the Television Personalities, Robyn Hitchcock and Light a Big Fire. He is a successful session musician, working on a range of albums for European groups before moving to the United States. Most recently, Sheppard has been seen in the DC Comics web series Doom Patrol, which premiered on HBO in 2019.
