Mark Sheppard

Mark Sheppard is an English actor and musician, recognized for his significant contributions to television series such as “Supernatural,” “Battlestar Galactica,” and “Leverage.” After touring with Light a Big Fire as an opening act for U2’s landmark 1987 Joshua Tree Tour, Mark Sheppard transitioned from a significant musical career into acting, rapidly establishing himself across film and television. His early film credits include a role as Paddy Armstrong in the 1993 drama In the Name of the Father. He further expanded his cinematic portfolio by co-producing and co-starring in the psychological thriller Nether World in 1997. Sheppard’s television career commenced with an appearance in ‘Fire,’ an episode of the iconic series The X-Files, quickly followed by a main cast role in the Jerry Bruckheimer action series Soldier of Fortune, Inc.

From 2009 to 2017, Sheppard gained widespread international recognition for his iconic portrayal of Crowley, the sardonic King of Hell, in the critically acclaimed television series Supernatural. His impactful performance saw the role transition from a recurring character to a main character in 2014, solidifying his presence across eight seasons of the long-running show. Demonstrating his versatility, Sheppard also took on the memorable role of Canton Everett Delaware III in ‘The Impossible Astronaut’ and ‘Day of the Moon’ episodes of Doctor Who in 2011, further cementing his status within the sci-fi landscape. Most recently, Mark Sheppard continued his notable work in the DC Comics universe with his recurring role as Willoughby Kipling in the popular series Doom Patrol, from 2019 until its conclusion in 2023.
