Marty Gshore

Martin McKenna, known professionally as Marty Gshore, was born on July 27, 1994, in Walker, Newcastle upon Tyne. His public career began unexpectedly; in September 2010, McKenna joined the British Army at the Army Foundation College in Harrogate, with aspirations of joining the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers. However, his tenure in the military was brief, as he applied for a Discharge as of Right (DAOR) in March 2011, concluding his army career to pursue opportunities in media. This early career shift set the stage for his entry into the entertainment industry, leading to significant visibility in reality television.

McKenna achieved widespread recognition through his involvement in popular British reality television series. In August 2015, he joined the third series of ‘Ex on the Beach’ as the ex-partner of Jemma Lucy. During this period, he was also joined by his ex-girlfriend, Sarah Goodhart. His time on the show was curtailed due to dehydration, necessitating his departure. Following his ‘Ex on the Beach’ appearance, McKenna transitioned to ‘Geordie Shore,’ joining the twelfth series in October 2015 and remaining a cast member until the fifteenth series in 2017. He later returned to ‘Geordie Shore’ from 2021 to 2022. During his time on ‘Geordie Shore,’ he was known for an on-and-off relationship with fellow castmate Chloe Ferry. His career continued with further reality TV engagements, including an appearance in the tenth series of ‘Celebs Go Dating’ in 2022. Beyond television, McKenna has also engaged in mixed martial arts (MMA), making his MMA debut at Fame MMA UK 1 on December 14, 2019, in Newcastle, where he faced Sam Gowland. This event, which resulted in a loss via submission, showcased a different facet of his public pursuits.
