Mats Zuccarello

Mats Zuccarello is a Norwegian professional ice hockey right winger who currently plays for the Minnesota Wild, known for his impactful presence on the ice and dedicated community involvement. After leading Modo Hockey with 23 goals and a league-leading 64 points in Sweden’s Elitserien, earning the Guldhjälmen (Golden Helmet) as the league’s most valuable player in 2010, Mats Zuccarello signed with the New York Rangers of the National Hockey League (NHL) that summer. He made his NHL debut on December 23, 2010, becoming the seventh Norwegian player in the league, and scored his first NHL goal on January 5, 2011. Prior to his Elitserien success, Zuccarello played full-time for Frisk Asker in Norway’s GET-ligaen starting at age 18 in 2005, where he recorded 59 points in 43 games in the 2006–07 season, ranking third in league scoring.

Solidifying his integral role, Zuccarello signed a two-year, $8.25 million contract extension with the Minnesota Wild in 2023, ensuring his presence with the team through the 2025–26 season. He continues to be recognized for his skilled play and leadership on the ice.
