Matt Hasselbeck is a former American professional football quarterback renowned for his illustrious career in the National Football League (NFL). He is the son of Mary Beth “Betsy” and Don Hasselbeck, a former New England Patriots tight end.

He continued to hone his skills at Boston College, where he led the Eagles football team as the starting quarterback, graduating with a degree in marketing.
In the 1998 NFL Draft, Hasselbeck was selected by the Green Bay Packers in the sixth round. After a brief stint on the practice squad, he transitioned to the role of backup quarterback behind the legendary Brett Favre.
