Matt Weiner

Matt Weiner garnered two Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Drama Series for his significant contributions to HBO’s ‘The Sopranos’ in 2004 and 2007. His work on the critically acclaimed series included serving as Supervising Producer for its fifth season in 2004, Co-Executive Producer for the first part of the sixth season in 2006, and Executive Producer for the second part of the sixth season in 2007. During this time, Weiner wrote or co-wrote 12 episodes, showcasing his intricate storytelling capabilities. He initially caught the attention of ‘The Sopranos’ creator David Chase with his spec script for ‘Mad Men’ in 1999.

In 2013, he expanded his cinematic repertoire by writing, directing, and producing the comedy-drama film ‘Are You Here.’ He further showcased his versatile storytelling by publishing his debut novel, ‘Heather, the Totality,’ in 2017. Most recently, Weiner served as Creator, Executive Producer, and Director for the Amazon Video anthology series ‘The Romanoffs,’ which premiered in 2018. Looking ahead, Matt Weiner is set to bring his distinct narrative vision to the stage with the world premiere of his play, ‘John Wilkes Booth: One Night Only,’ scheduled for May 2025.
