Maurizio Iacono has made significant contributions to the metal music scene as a vocalist, musician, and music industry executive. After co-founding the death metal band Kataklysm in 1991, Maurizio Iacono quickly established himself as a prominent figure in the metal music scene. Initially serving as bassist and backing vocalist, he contributed to the band’s foundational releases, including the 1992 demo ‘The Death Gate Cycle of Reincarnation,’ their debut EP ‘The Mystical Gate of Reincarnation’ in 1994, and the 1995 album ‘Sorcery.’ Kataklysm’s early success led to a significant signing with Nuclear Blast records in 1994. In 1998, Iacono transitioned to the pivotal role of lead vocalist, defining the band’s distinctive sound and lyrical direction across numerous albums, beginning with ‘Victims of This Fallen World’ (1998) and ‘The Prophecy (Stigmata of the Immaculate)’ (2000).
Through these ventures, Iacono continues to define his legacy as both a prolific artist and an impactful music executive.
