Mauro Castano is a reality star and baker who rose to fame on the TLC original series, Cake Boss. As a member of the main cast, Castano has spent over a decade on the show, which centers around Carlo’s Bakery in Hoboken, New Jersey. For over thirty years, Castano’s worked as the bakery’s pastry chef, co-owner, and right-hand man to Cake Boss star, Buddy Valastro.

Originally from Italy, Castano moved to the States in his pre-teen years. He married Valastro’s sister, Maddalena, and lent his talents in confection decorating and large-cake architecture to his wife’s family business, where she worked front desk. TLC documented the family dynamic of the business, as well as the elaborate cake designs, bringing in millions of viewers. The show inspired four subsequent spinoff series, including Bakery Boss, Bake You Rich, Kitchen Boss, and Next Great Baker. Now, Cake Boss airs on Food Network.

With the show’s growing popularity, Castano’s been invited to guest-star on programs such as VH1’s Big Morning Buzz Live and other Food Network shows like Buddy vs. Duff and Food Network Challenge.
