Christopher Brendan Ward IV, known professionally as MC Chris, was born on September 2, 1975, in Lake Forest, Illinois. He pursued his education at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and later attended New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, specializing in dramatic writing. His early career included studies with the Upright Citizens Brigade and work on Michael Moore’s ‘The Awful Truth’. Ward’s career progressed into animation and voice acting, leading to significant involvement with Adult Swim productions prior to its official launch.
Ward became a notable presence on Adult Swim, serving as an animator, writer, and voice actor. He voiced the character MC Pee Pants in ‘Aqua Teen Hunger Force’ and Young Carl in an episode of the series. His contributions extended to ‘Sealab 2021’, where he voiced Hesh Hipplewhite and other characters, and also served as a writer. Additionally, he was involved with ‘The Brak Show’ as an animator, sound editor, and bookkeeper, writing two episodes, including a musical featuring Cee-Lo Green. He continued his voice acting work intermittently, reprising his role as MC Pee Pants in ‘Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters’ (2007) and the video game adaptation, ‘Aqua Teen Hunger Force Zombie Ninja Pro-Am’ (2007). In 2010, he voiced Gummi in ‘Cheyenne Cinnamon and the Fantabulous Unicorn of Sugar Town Candy Fudge’. Ward also contributed theme songs for SModcast Internet Radio programs and composed music for Kevin Smith’s ‘Jay and Silent Bob’s Super Groovy Cartoon Movie’ (2013). In recent years, he has embarked on various tours, including ‘The Last Tour’ in 2022 and the ‘I Thought The Last Tour Was The Last Tour’ Tour in 2024, and launched a podcast called ‘None of This Matters’ with Dana Snyder in 2025.
