Meg Mcree

After attending Vanderbilt University on a full academic scholarship, Meg McRee chose to pursue songwriting professionally. Following her graduation, she spent several years working at The Listening Room and nannying while developing her craft through co-writes. This period of dedicated effort led to her signing her first publishing deal with Hang Your Hat, a joint venture between Concord Music Publishing and songwriter Hillary Lindsey.

Since securing her publishing deal, McRee’s musical talent has resulted in her songs being recorded by artists such as Elle King, Warren Zeiders, Ella Langley, Grace Potter, Colby Acuff, Paul Cauthen, Ashley Monroe, and Shelby Lynne. She introduced her own artistry with her debut record, ‘Is It Just Me?’, produced by Andrew Petroff. The album featured the track ‘Mary Jane & Chardonnay’, which gained attention on Folk, Americana, and Country playlists, with SiriusXM The Highway On The Horizon providing airplay. Her collaboration ‘Gone As It Gets’, with Brit Taylor, Adam Chaffins, and Ben Chapman, also received support on SiriusXM Outlaw Country.

In recent years, McRee has achieved several significant career milestones. She made her debut performance at the Grand Ole Opry, receiving a standing ovation. She has also performed at various festivals, including Stagecoach, CMA Fest, and Moon Crush. McRee has toured in support of artists such as Lainey Wilson, Ashley McBryde, Morgan Wade, Marcus King, Hailey Whitters, Lukas Nelson, Flatland Cavalry, Brent Cobb, Red Clay Strays, and Elle King. Her ‘History of Heartbreak’ EP, released in 2023, featured new songs like ‘Wildflower’ and ‘The Moon’ (featuring Hillary Lindsey and Lori McKenna), which were highlighted on streaming platforms and promoted with a Spotify Nashville billboard. Her latest single, ‘Usually You’, further demonstrates her songwriting abilities and genre-blending style.
